Description of Work Unit | Founded in 1870, Colorado State University is among the nation’s leading research universities and enrolls approximately 32,000 undergraduate, graduate, and professional students. Located an hour north of the Denver metro area, Fort Collins is a vibrant community of approximately 157,000 residents that offers the convenience of a small town with all the amenities of a large city. Fort Collins is situated on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains with views of 14,000 foot peaks, and offers access to numerous cultural, recreational, and outdoor opportunities. The College of Business at Colorado State University is an AACSB accredited business school which enrolls more than 4100 undergraduate students in 10 business concentrations and the business administration minor and is the largest undergraduate major on campus. In addition, the college enrolls approximately 1500 students in five different MBA programs and three department-based graduate programs in the Master of Accountancy, the Master of Computer Information Systems, and the Master of Financial Risk Management. The Department of Management is one of five departments in the College of Business. The department has a strong record of teaching and research accomplishments as well as a collegial work environment. There are three primary areas in the department including supply chain management, human resource management/organizational behavior, and entrepreneurship/strategy. The Department currently has 17 tenured/tenure track faculty members, 10 contract/continuing faculty members, and serves approximately 3000 undergraduate business majors, over 1400 undergraduate business minors, and 1400 MBA students. The MBA is offered in residence and via Colorado State University’s accredited online learning programs. |

Position Summary | The Department of Management invites applications for the position of Continuing Instructor of Business Communication. This is a 9-month non-tenure track position with benefits. The teaching load for this position is 8 sections with schedule to be determined by the Department chair. This position addresses teaching needs in Business Communications. Specific Responsibilities include teaching Business Communication courses in the undergraduate program. Evening and on-line teaching may be required. Instructors are responsible for all aspects of course delivery, including syllabus production, lecturing, meeting with students, and assigning final grades. Some courses have multiple sections and several instructors/lecturers/professors, and thus instructors are required to coordinate syllabi, all course content, and grading standards in a team environment. The successful candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States by the proposed start date; the Department of Management will not provide visa sponsorship for this position. |
