Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY: Provide classroom, clinical and college laboratory instruction for students enrolled in upper division, BSN program. Participate in program evaluation and development. Work with diverse populations and faculty/students at a distant location.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach assigned courses. Plan, implement, and evaluate instructional activities in selected nursing courses. Collaborate with other nursing and health professions faculty in on-going program evaluation. Participate in curriculum implementation and evaluation. Serve on program and university committees. Participate in academic advisement, student recruitment and retention activities. Support mission and purposes of Langston University. Maintain program of professional development. Assume and effectively perform other duties as assigned by the dean or site coordinator.
PRINCIPAL CONTACTS: Prospective and enrolled health professions students, clinical agency representatives, nursing and health profession organizations, and numerous other university constituencies.

Education & Experience

Position Qualifications:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to work well with others, demonstrated teaching effectiveness, ability to function autonomously and effectively in a demanding environment, good attention to detail, and commitment to the philosophy and mission of Langston University.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Master's degree and licensed or eligible for license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oklahoma. Earned doctorate preferred. Two years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse. Two or more years of teaching experience in a health professions specialty. Certified Nurse Educator credential preferred.
Eligible or hold unrestrictive Oklahoma RN license. Ability to work cooperatively within a team structure.
POSITION(S) PREVIOUSLY HELD (REQUIRED): Licensed Registered Nurse. College or university faculty position.
