The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, Department of Radiation Oncology invites applications for a faculty member with expertise in medical physics.  Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

The Candidate will be qualified as a Radiation Expert as defined in the Ohio Administrative Code and be capable of performing physics evaluations for therapeutic radiation producing equipment, x-ray machines, shielding evaluations and area surveys for radiographic scanners.
 

As the Medical Physicist, you will support all radiation physics activities including testing, quality assurance, safety, research, and education.

• Able to develop and perform innovative and comprehensive quality assurance processes.
• Able to review imaging protocols to optimize image quality and minimize patient dose in simulation.
• Develop, provide, and maintain radiation safety and therapeutic training programs.
• Support the clinical management of patients administered therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals.
• To assist and be willing to learn the duties and responsibilities of a Radiation Safety Officer for a Type A Medical Broad scope radioactive materials license including surveys, dosimetry, and DOT shipping requirements.
• Be available for consultation with physicians and to provide technical advice or direction.

• Candidate must have a master’s degree and completed residency from an accredited program in Radiation Oncology.
• Candidates must be either board certified or board eligible from the American Board of Radiology (ABR) prior to starting position.
