Instructional Technology Assistant - Student Clerical

Job Summary

The Veterinary Education Support Team (VEST) in the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking an Instructional Design Student Assistant. This position will assist members of the VEST Team in multiple aspects of instructional and educational technology assistance, including but not limited to video recording and editing, exam creation, course recording scheduling, and faculty and staff training as appropriate.

This is an on-site position in Lynn Hall, with flexible work hours around class schedules. Our normal operating hours are 8:00-5:00 Monday-Friday.

Position duties will include:

  • Exam creation within Brightspace and ExamSoft.
  • Scheduling and maintaining BoilerCast recordings for the College.
  • Record and edit instructional videos for various College units.
  • Maintain instructional design equipment, including charging cameras, preserving video clips from camera, etc.
  • Assisting with team and client presentations.
  • Update internal and customer-facing documentation.
  • Other duties as logically determined.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills:

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience in video creation and editing.
  • Ability to maintain professional discretion.

The ideal candidate will also have the following personal attributes:

  • Comfortable working in situations around animals.
  • Ability to wear limited personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
  • A desire to learn new software.
  • Strong personal initiative to complete projects on time.
