The office of professional and continuing education at the University of North Texas Health Science Center is seeking to hire an Instructional Designer to join our team. INCEDO is seeking to hire an Instructional Designer with proven educational design proficiency and strong technical skills who can work in a fast-paced office setting. Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: * Create and revise course design documents and other related materials. * Gather business needs and performance requirements. * Interview Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and business stakeholders to articulate a baseline understanding of business objectives, the jobs that people perform to meet those objectives, the skills required to perform those jobs and the extent to which those skills are absent or in need of development through training and learning. * Define behaviorally-based learning outcomes and create course assessments. * Determine appropriate instructional strategies and delivery technologies to meet objectives. * Assess business constraints, audience characteristics, technical environment, budget and other factors to determine the right media and technologies to deliver the learning. * Work closely with all members of the team to secure the appropriate level of collaboration. * Act as lead designer and project manager responsible for executing the end-to-end analysis, design, and development process for individual projects. * Effectively use learning management system for program and project management. * Develop and facilitate the development of online education to support INCEDO initiatives. * Complete all reimbursements, requisitions and invoices in a compliant and timely fashion. * Support revenue generating functions, including grant research and/or writing. * Be an active team member of INCEDO, providing administrative support, including phone back-up, filing, mail out preparation and other duties as needed. * Other duties as assigned. The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: * Experience planning adult educational curriculum and learning events, utilizing adult learning principles and appropriate outcomes methodology to determine effectiveness. * Experience with e-learning and developing courses with subject matter experts. * Excellent communication skills; able to communicate effectively (orally and written); research, develop, present and promote projects. * Strong organizational skills; able to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly . * Meet fast-paced deadlines and route projects strategically through the quickly changing environments of the institution and community.
