The technology training program at Stanford is seeking a talented, instructional designer/ artist to join our team and work with an outstanding group of instructors and professionals. You will have an opportunity to apply your creativity in helping us to design and create outstanding educational and marketing materials.

Work with us to enhance ordinary content on a power point slide to a vibrant visual and interactive learning experience. We create outstanding presentations, cool e-learning adventures and, inviting course announcements.

We invite candidates with strong graphic design and illustration skills, Knowledge of typography, color theory and a creative design portfolio demonstrating their talent and work. The ideal candidate is a highly creative, motivated individual, who is eager to learn and grow, able to quickly process information and solve problems as they arise on tight deadlines.

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic self-starter who enjoys learning and teaching, has a strong passion for delivering highly functional, creative training materials in different modalities. This is a full-time position based in Palo Alto, CA.


 
Requirements
  • Assess target audience business needs to determine learning and performance support needs.
  • Develop learning plans and as needed change management and communication plans. Ensure appropriateness, effectiveness, and success of learning programs.
  • Proactively consult with subject matter experts to identify and formulate learning objectives and content.
  • Draft storyboards and prototypes.
  • Design and develop course content, instructor, and participant materials, including performance support materials.
  • Design learning and performance support solutions. Implement, evaluate, and maintain learning solutions. 
  • Develop and deliver Train-the-Trainer programs
  • Identify strategy for production, post-production, and delivery resources, tools, and equipment necessary for the development of learning materials.
  • Experience in creating animations for slide decks and presentations.
  • Experience in developing video content, instructional materials, story boards, presentations, and other communication materials.
  • Proficiency in using Adobe's Creative Suite applications—must be experienced in efficiently using Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign
  • Ability to create or incorporate illustrations, pictures, and designs to reflect desired themes and concepts in course content.
  • Ability to select type size and style to enhance the readability of text
  • Ability to carefully review final products for errors and ensure that products conform to design guidelines and specifications.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with instructors and training team to understand educational needs and program requirements
  • Must be able to work on a number of different projects simultaneously and manage priorities.

Years Of Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree and seven years of relevant experience or combination of education and relevant experience, preferably in a fast-paced, deadline-drive environment.
  • Degree in Instructional Design or a related field is preferred
  • Technical writing or training experience preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite and Adobe Creative Suite products
  • Well-versed in graphic design, eLearning multimedia production
  • Experience with enterprise learning management systems
  • Experience with eLearning authoring software (Articulate 360 is preferred)
