SCAD seeks an Instructional Designer for its Savannah location to ensure that a high standard of instructional design is maintained throughout the life of each online learning development project.

The ideal candidate has experience in the field of online distance education, strong web-authoring skills, a working knowledge of HTML, and at least one WYSIWYG editor (preferably Dreamweaver). The candidate should display a broad knowledge of web-based eLearning and other new media applications. Superb verbal and written communication skills are a necessity as is exceptional reading comprehension, the ability to write and edit materials in English, and an eye for detail.

The ideal candidate has experience working with content management systems (preferably Blackboard) and the ability to conduct needs assessment and task analysis to include terminal and enabling objectives. The candidate should be able to employ industry standard instruction design principles in the design of training for online delivery. The candidate also should have the ability to design effective performance measurement and evaluation strategies. Efficient time management is imperative as is the ability to work well as part of a team. The ideal candidate possesses the expertise in instructional design and online learning to provide faculty with strong course development feedback and advice. The candidate should at least have limited experience in hand-coding of HTML.

• Bachelor’s or graduate degree is required, preferably in instructional design or comparable discipline.
