Summary of Duties:

The Instructional Designer will provide project-level leadership of instructional design and delivery projects for the Office of Faculty Development and Continuing Education. This position works with faculty to develop training course materials tailored to specific educational needs.
 

This position will execute multiple deliverables for all offices and campuses in the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine statewide for the Office. This includes but is not limited to, the MD program across the regional clinical campuses, academic departments such as Speech and Hearing Sciences, Nutrition and Exercise Physiology and Community and Behavioral Health and supporting the continuum from undergraduate, to graduate, to continuing medical education.
 

As this is a new position within the College, there are opportunities for continued growth in the position in correlation with expanded functions of the role and/or the Office of Faculty Development and Continuing Education.

This position has the option to work at a hybrid/remote capacity.

Required Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s degree in communications, computer science, management information systems or other relevant field and three (3) years relevant related professional experience including experience with complex telecommunication systems or multimedia systems. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Communications, Instructional Design, Education, Psychology, Social Science, Leadership, or other relevant field.
  • Experience with design, delivery and/or utilization of a Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Demonstrated experience with managing projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated skills using course authoring tool, such as Articulate 360, Adobe Captivate, or similar.
  • Demonstrated skills with graphic/publication design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative, or similar.
  • Experience in higher education or training and development.
  • Experience working with faculty in medical education or clinicians in healthcare.
  • Experience with a project management platform, such as Asana, Monday, Smartsheets, Airtable, Microsoft Project, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud-based document storage such as SharePoint.
  • Experience designing content for blended learning, microlearning, and hybrid participants.
