Job Summary
Academic Technology Services is accepting applications for an Instructional Design Coordinator to join their team.
This position is responsible to the Director of Academic Technology for working with faculty, departments, colleges, and schools to identify and support new and existing online courses and programs. The instructional designer
  • Provides leadership and vision to assist faculty in creating and implementing effective learning strategies that incorporate technology into their online curriculum.
  • Works collaboratively with departments, colleges, and schools to ensure proper technology instruction and support for synchronous and asynchronous online course development.
  • Provides information and support to prospective online faculty.
  • Maintains data and generates reports on course offerings and enrollments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of course development in a learning management system.
  • Knowledge of common computer hardware and software used to build web applications.
  • Knowledge of current techniques and procedures used in the design, development, and delivery of online courses, methods, materials, teaching, and assessment techniques.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and concepts.
  • Consult with faculty to recommend instructional delivery options and identify appropriate course content.
  • Evaluate emerging online or technology-assisted educational tools and make recommendations for use.
  • Ability to manage course projects from inception to completion.
  • Assist faculty in the maintenance and re-design of existing online courses.
  • Use rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
  • Ability to work with people of varied technological skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty using a variety of approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Ability to design, develop, and evaluate instructional training materials.
  • Ability to understand instructional and technical processes, products, or concepts, and communicate them effectively to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to work productively on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to implement digital media in the online environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to customer satisfaction.
  • High level of flexibility, creativity, and dependability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience designing instruction for online learning environments.
  • Experience working with HTML or related types of technology.
  • Two years of work-related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Experience in teaching or training adult learners and online teaching.
Salary $55,065
