The Department of Health and Human Performance at the University of Houston is seeking a non-tenure track faculty position at any rank (Instructional Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor) in the field of Kinesiology. The successful candidate will be able to teach undergraduate level courses in a variety of kinesiology areas, including exercise science, health and fitness, sport psychology, etc. Additionally, candidates will be an active member in academic program development and should demonstrate a commitment to high quality, evidence-based undergraduate instruction within the field of kinesiology, with a willingness to seek opportunities for growth in the field of teaching.  Candidate should be committed to engaging with colleagues in the department and across the university and promoting the overall vision and mission of the department. Service at the department, college, and university level will be expected.
The position consists of a 9-month academic year appointment and an optional 3-month summer teaching appointment. The anticipated start date is Fall 2024. Salary and rank will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and experience and will include benefits. Qualifications

: 

Required Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Kinesiology or related field. Candidates in the final stages of their doctoral studies, who anticipate completion before the commencement of employment, are eligible to apply.
Preferred Qualifications:  PhD or EdD degree; previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level; experience with online, hybrid, and face-to-face teaching modalities; relevant certifications (ACSM-EP, CSCS, etc.). Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and a willingness to teach courses in multiple areas of kinesiology (exercise science, health, biomechanics, sport psychology, etc.). Strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills, and willingness to support the overall mission of the department.
