Position Summary:

The Institutional Printer is responsible for printing forms, pamphlets, and other requested materials and may assist or oversee layout design. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for pre-press area operation: Basic understanding of printing workflow terminology and production process. Setting up, operating, and maintaining digital printing machines to produce high-quality b/w and color prints
  • Adobe programs knowledge: Good understanding of Adobe programs like InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
  • Spreadsheet management: Good understanding of Microsoft Office programs like Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Documentation and record-keeping
  • Maintaining accurate records of all print jobs
  • Other duties as assigned 


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of printing operations, procedures and related terminology
Knowledge of graphic design
Knowledge of Adobe programs like InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs like Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Ability to maintain inventory and requisition supplies
Ability to review print orders, determine materials needed, and produce a finished product
Preferred Qualifications:
College degree in the field of Graphic Arts or Graphic Design


General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Sometimes subjected to excessive noise from machinery in the performance of job duties


Minimum Qualifications:

The formal education of a High School Diploma
Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or parts of these basic requirements upon approval of the qualifications review committee
