The Northwest Center for Public Health Practice (NWCPHP) in the Department of Health Systems and Population Health, School of Public Health has an outstanding opportunity for a Instructional Designer. Reporting to the E-learning Manager, the Instructional Designer is responsible for developing online trainings; supporting existing online, in-person, and hybrid trainings; and maintaining web-based learning resources to meet the diverse public health education/training needs in the Northwest region. This position requires strong writing skills, a background in distance education, design and learning technologies, and knowledge of adult learning styles.

The Instructional Designer will work with content experts to assess the learning outcomes, consider the needs of the target audience, evaluate the distance learning technologies available to reach the desired outcomes, design and build relevant instructional materials, and support faculty through the course development process. Additionally, this position is responsible for monitoring and expediting the production process, while assuring the readability, coherence, accuracy, and conformity to standards of style and quality in the course materials.
