Inquiry Writing Seminar Adjunct Instructor

Teach a general education course with significant writing and reading components on a topic of candidate’s choosing, approved by the Inquiry Seminar program director.



                                   

●       Design a research, writing, and speaking course, with support from the Inquiry Seminar program director, that fulfills a general education requirement for Bethel                 undergraduates and meets stated course objectives.

●       Attend a summer workshop (stipend provided) to learn required elements and objectives of the course and design the syllabus and major assignments.

●       Create and maintain a course Moodle page.

●       Teach the class in person, grade assignments and tests,  support students as needed to promote their learning, and work with an undergraduate T.A. who functions            as a peer mentor to enrolled students.

●       Contribute to an academic environment that seeks to advance inclusive excellence in the program and the University.



●       Ability and interest in teaching undergraduate students entering into rigorous college-level work in a residential liberal arts environment.

●       Ability to teach writing and public speaking with integration of scholarly sources (some training for this will be available at the summer workshop).

●       Clear communication and organizational skills.



Experience teaching writing and/or speaking required; experience teaching at the college level strongly preferred.



Master’s degree required, PhD preferred, in English or related subject area.



Compensation:    

  • Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience
