Under the supervision of the Dean of the School of Business & Technology Division, under general direction of the Dean, and in collaboration with the Assistant Dean/Program Chair(s), the Program Manager organizes and provides supportive management functions for Associate degrees and Bachelor of Applied Science degrees in accordance with divisional and program guidelines. The Program Manager provides information and academic advising services to both current and prospective students, and assists in creating a seamless pathway for students in Associate programs to enter into the BAS degree through an equity centered approach.

Essential duties include tracking program data and finances, student recruitment and retention, community outreach, program marketing, and website maintenance. This position is also responsible for making operational recommendations and providing support for the Program Chair(s), faculty and students to achieve success in an environment that upholds diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).

Position Salary Range: $73,539/year - $106,632/year

The salary information shown above is a general guideline only. The salary will be determined based on candidate's qualifications and related experience, as well as market and business considerations. Typically, new hire starts no higher than $81,812/year based on Bellevue College Exempt salary schedule.

The employee is scheduled to work 40 hours per workweek. This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, which means that you are not eligible for overtime pay.

The Institute for Business and Information Technology (IBIT) encompasses both Instructional and Professional/Technical degree and certificate options crossing multiple program areas.  IBIT serves a diverse student population which has wide-ranging interests focusing on academic preparation to career progression, and encompassing high-school students to adult learners with a wide range of student abilities from at-risk to advanced, along with sometimes shortened cycles of impact due to completion of certificates or the securing of employment during the program.  This places additional demands and pressures on faculty in Professional/Technical programs while also adding significant value to students by way of opportunity creation in challenging economic times.

Academic Advising & Student Success

  • Guide current and prospective students through programs by creating individualized academic plans and providing them with information on admission process, prerequisites, unofficial transcript review, Financial Aid, etc. Assist our diverse students with other needs to facilitate their success in the program through communication, connecting students to resources, relationship building, and helping students navigate obstacles and systemic inequities.

Outreach/Recruitment

  • Conduct informational sessions, class visits, and special events such as “iBIT Advising Day” to promote program, develop and execute annual marketing and recruitment plan, create flyers and outreach materials, maintain and update program social media and websites.
  • Representative for programs at College Fairs, Campus Events and Tech Conferences. Monitors and implements student retention plan; coordinates with Student Services as necessary. Represents a commitment to inclusion for marginalized students and provides support where necessary.

Management & Operations

  • Manage the daily operations of AA and BAS programs in collaboration with Program Chair(s) to facilitate administrative, faculty and student needs including; managing BAS finances, purchasing and budget,  Organizing and recording minutes of advisory meetings, making curriculum updates, building articulations with other colleges, and collecting and tracking student data to use for program planning.

Administrative Support

  • Maintain document management systems (i.e. SharePoint, websites, etc.) and student records, liaison between students, employers and faculty for student job opportunities, utilize databases and tracking software to assist with data collection to provide data for class scheduling, faculty updates, and overall program planning and effectiveness.

Other

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's degree - OR - combination of relevant education and/or experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.
  • Minimum Two (2) years of experience in a capacity that involves customer service.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence in the workplace and education to foster a culture of inclusion and fairness (including knowledge of historically marginalized groups).
  • Experience in one or more of the following: finance management, marketing, recruiting, organizing work flow, implementing policies and procedures.
  • Experience with budgeting and finance.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Web tools (e.g. Word Press)
  • Able to accept personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work and achieve successful results with minimal oversight.
  • Effective written and verbal communication to share information using language that is appropriate to the complexity of the topic and the knowledge and understanding of the audience.
  • Able to build constructive relationships with students and co-workers characterized by a high level of acceptance, cooperation, and mutual regard.
  • Able to recognize opportunities for creative problem solving while staying within the parameters of good practice; generates unique, workable, and useful solutions to difficult problems.
  • Able to multi-task several projects at once.
  • Able to work effectively with diverse groups of people from multiple cultural backgrounds and differing points of view.
  • Must be able to work an occasional alternate schedule, such as evenings or weekends.
  • Experience working in project/program management.
  • Experience working in higher education.
  • Knowledge in any aspect of Business, IT or IT Industry.
  • Experience in marketing, recruiting and/or promotion.
  • Experience evaluating and assessing data.
  • Experience guiding students in professional/technical programs with transcript evaluation, course selection, registration and/or selective admissions application.
