Information Technology Intern (Bachelors or Masters Students)

We are seeking IT Interns to join AIR’s Information Technology program area. AIR’s Information Technology (IT) organization provides technology services for clients both inside and external to AIR.  IT maintains three professional-grade data and hosting centers that are supported by a team of engineers monitoring the continuous operations of the network, including servers, security, and applications. Internally, IT provides a wide variety of services that include electronic mail, collaboration, networking, business-specific data base applications, and technical support for applications and web-site developers. Externally, IT delivers web hosting services with rigorous security requirements that satisfy industry standards.

 

AIR’s 2024 Summer Internship Program is designed to identify, attract, and hire the best collegiate talent that will drive creativity and innovation while enabling the organization to create a diverse and skilled talent pool. Spanning 10 – 12 weeks (May-August), AIR’s paid summer program provides Interns with various learning and networking opportunities that enhance their skillset and build lasting professional connections. 

 

Candidates hired for the position will report to the AIR Crystal City office at least three days out of the week.

The responsibilities for the position include:

  • Learn, analyze, and test new technologies; assist in migrations to new services
  • Define short-term scope to implement an IT project such as
    • Active Directory modifications
    • Software Licensing Renewals
    • Knowledge Management – review/develop documentation, standard operating procedures
    • Be involved in the day to day operations within our Technical Support Team
  • Contribute to process improvement and participate in ongoing IT projects


Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Must be a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or related certifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
  • Comfortable working independently and as a member of a team with individuals at all levels and from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a virtual work environment

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. Employment-based visa sponsorship (including H-1B sponsorship) is not available for this position. Depending on project work, qualified candidates may need to meet certain residency requirements.

This position offers $22.00-$25.00 per hour. Salary offers are made based on internal equity within the organization and external equity with competitive markets. Please note this is the salary for candidates that are based in the United States.
