Information Systems Training Specialist - Associate

Job Summary:

The Project Portfolio Management & Delivery (PPMD) -Transition Solutions team is a Change Management Team for IT related software implementation and upgrade projects. We have two Training Specialist who work with our four Change Management Analyst on IT Projects which support our mission – education, research, clinical, and community engagement. Much of our work supports the core business operations and enterprise software applications. The Training Specialist is an entry level position, there is a component of business application user support which builds both business process knowledge and extends relationship across the university. There is opportunity for career growth, with parallel moves into other areas, or advancement into both technical and business areas. We do have a track record of hiring recent college graduates or even our own interns, providing business knowledge and mentoring, then advancing those individuals into other positions. We are excited to see resumes that are less technical. Much of Change Management involves marketing and communications. Our Training Specialists need design and media skills to provide quality learning experiences to engage user communities.

 

Job Duties:

  • Maintains records of training activities, trainee progress, and program effectiveness.
  • Reinforces and educates end users regarding existing workflows and best practices.
  • Assists application team in defining enhancement requests, new screen designs, etc., based on feedback from training sessions or interactions with end users and management.
  • Develops training materials addressing specific educational goals and objectives for each training module to include quick guides, computer-based training (CBT), newsletters, testing material and other training material as needed.
  • Provides troubleshooting and end-user support.
  • Performs classroom training activities including in-services and other adult learning methodologies.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

    Education:

    Associate's degree or equivalent certification is required. Preferred degrees include: Business, English, Communications, and Marketing.

     

    Experience:

    Beginners with sufficient educational background and/or experience is required.

    -        Technology experience is not necessary. However, candidates should have knowledge in core business operational software like Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
