Position Summary
Provide Software Development and Systems Architecture duties for the Nebraska Public Health Laboratory (NPHL) and UNMC research related activities. Provides leadership for NPHL technical solutions including NULirt and d bioinformatics data flows; supports NPHL business objectives by designing, building and managing innovative software and computer systems and providing advanced database administration. Adheres to project plans and time estimates for software development.

Required Education: Bachelor's degree

  • Perform complex planning, diagnosis and troubleshooting for computer systems.
  • Knowledge of pathology and laboratory systems and workflows.
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external staff and departmental staff and must demonstrate core competencies of teamwork, customer focus, flexibility and adaptability, attention to detail, and follow-up.
  • Self-starter and independent learner.
Preferred Education: Master's degree or equivalent
