The Infection Control Coordinator will perform a wide range of duties in support of the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program and initiatives to ensure compliance with DNV requirements as well as local, state, and federal public health reporting mandates. As part of the Infection Prevention Program the Infection Control Coordinator will participate in disease surveillance, data collection, and data submission as it relates to Infection Prevention. The Infection Control Coordinator will also perform: occasional rounding on nursing units making direct observations and recording the data as appropriate, limited staff education, and support Infection Prevention and Control initiatives with patient facing personnel as needed. This position will provide support to Quality Management during licensing and accreditation surveys.


• Provide overall data support for areas of responsibility. • Reports communicable diseases and supporting laboratory/patient data to the local, state, and national health departments as required. • Facilitates meeting applicable regulatory requirements through monitoring and reporting infection trends to the Director of Infection Prevention. • Assist with the infection surveillance and control data: data definitions, auditing, verification, and reporting. • Compile data and assist with the preparation of reports and materials for the Infection Prevention and Control Committee. • Perform Infection Control Audits to ensure the facility is in compliance with current CDC, OSHA and local regulations concerning hand hygiene, isolation precautions, infection control and standard universal precautions • Assist in creation and dissemination of infection prevention educational materials • Supports Quality Department as needed to perform miscellaneous task and special projects as directed.
