The newly established UTHealth Institute for Implementation Science seeks a candidate who demonstrates interest and expertise in interdisciplinary implementation science.

Under the supervision and mentorship of UTHealth Institute for Implementation Directors Bijal Balasubramanian, M.B.B.S, Ph.D. & Maria E. Fernandez, Ph.D., the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will participate in, design, organize and conduct implementation research studies; summarize findings and publish results in research journals; participate as a co-author on Institute publications, and provide supervision and guidance to junior technicians, students, and researchers.

The Postdoctoral Fellow will also receive training and supervision in the application of implementation science theories and methods, implementation mapping, measurement of implementation constructs, outcomes, and processes, and will gain experience participating in implementation research grant applications. The postdoc will also have an opportunity to participate in global implementation science efforts with the WHO collaborating center at UTHealth School of Public Health and other Centers and Schools throughout UTHealth.

This is a two-year postdoc position 100% funded by the Institute.


Minimum Requirements:

Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant discipline.


Description of Qualified Candidates:
  • The applicant must have a record of research productivity through publications and presentations related to Implementation Science.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a collaborative team member.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • A desire to contribute to the start-up and establishment of a new Institute.
