Job Details:

General Notes

  • This position requires up to 10% travel throughout the state of Texas, ongoing weekend and evening work to support course implementation, including during summer, spring, and fall professional learning institutes and enrollment deadlines.
  • Selection is made by a hiring committee and supervisor based on review of online applications and results of personal interviews. Hiring decision is contingent upon applicant clearing a security background check.

Purpose

To support instructors and ensure fidelity of implementation of the Chemistry courses by coordinating a high-level of instructional and professional development services and support to OnRamps Instructors.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize data that illuminate instructor support using Data Science methodologies, such as instructor engagement and pacing. Implement strategies for adoption of innovation.
  • Implement on-going professional development and learning activities through weekly communication, monthly virtual meetings, and professional learning institutes. Use standardized relationship building strategies to cultivate and lead a facilitated network of OnRamps Instructors.
  • Provide 1:1 instructional, professional development, and technical service and support to OnRamps Instructors across the state to ensure fidelity of implementation, teacher growth, retention, and satisfaction in the OnRamps four pillars of college standards, innovative pedagogy, technology-enhanced education, and aligned college experience. Using standardized service and support strategies, provide just-in-time support as needed via online, telephone, and in-person communication.
  • Provide just in time support for instructors with implementation that are onboarded to OnRamps after annual Summer Institutes and throughout the academic year.
  • Ensure instructors implement OnRamps courses with fidelity by providing supporting documents and media in Course Headquarters in collaboration with other team members. Support fidelity of implementation by assisting in investigations of academic integrity.
  • Lead an instructor support system using mentor instructors and online platforms to provide extra support for new OnRamps Instructors. Sustain a virtual community for our instructors across the state by utilizing online platforms and mentor instructors.
  • Contribute to designated special projects, including replication, that advance course-specific programs under the direction of the Managing Director of Associate Director.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, education, or related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of high school teaching and learning.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact.
  • Five years teaching experience at a high school or college level.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Chemistry, education, or related field.
  • Experience providing support or instructional coaching to teachers.
  • Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or another LMS.
  • Proficient in Smartsheet or other Project Management system.
  • Ability to communicate technical information to lay audiences using a respectful, client-focused approach.
  • More than five years teaching experience at a high school or college level.


Salary Range

  • $55,000 + depending on qualifications


Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work environment - typically two days a week in the office and three days a week from a remote office.
  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Climbing of stairs.
