The Department of Criminology Justice and Sociology at Jackson State University invites applications for its Impaired Driving Prevention Specialist position.

Qualifications


Minimum Required Education
B.S. in a Social Science Field, Criminal Justice, Sociology, etc.
Minimum Required Experience
Must have at least two years of experience working with youth.
Minimum Required Licenses and/or Certifications
None.
Qualifications
A working knowledge of alcohol/drug prevention.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Able to do extensive traveling both during the day, overnight, and on weekends.
  • Be creative
  • Able to work alone
  • Able to speak to large audiences
  • Have good communication skills both verbal and written
  • Work well with youth
  • Able to lift at least 20 to 30 pounds
  • Able to move supplies up and down stairs and store in car while traveling
  • Must be computer literate
  • Able to work in heat and cold, inside and outside , and in old building and with large groups
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Conduct face to-face impaired driving presentations to youth and adults across the State of Mississippi
  • Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports
  • Attend grant meetings, trainings, and workshops
  • Set up community information booths across Mississippi in specific target areas
  • Create information flyers to be distributed in participants in programs and on social media sites
  • Prepare weekly and monthly project reports
  • File paperwork
  • Conducted zoom presentations
  • Develop information brochures
  • Computer literate
  • Work well with people
  • Must be a team player
  • Must also be flexible with work hours
