Summary of Duties

Coordinates acquisition and archiving of in-house diagnostic imaging examinations that includes radiography, computerized tomography(CT) magnetic resonance (MR) and Nuclear Medicine(NM) studies; performs calibration tests on equipment; cares for and maintains equipment in assigned areas; assists with instructing technical aspects of veterinary radiology to veterinary students; assists with research activities; makes radiographs of small animals and large animals; assists in performing special procedures, such as fluoroscopic, myelographic and other contrast procedures and assists in routine radiographic examinations; instructs veterinary students, residents and technician students with regard to technical aspects of veterinary radiology; assures that all charges for services have been appropriately priced and submitted for all assigned patients as directed by supervisor; maintains proficiency in the use of Radiology equipment; makes CD/DVDs of hospital images; other related duties as assigned by Service Head or Imaging Manager.

Additional Information for Applicants:

Position requires lifting animals and equipment of 40-50 lbs.; ability to handle and restrain awake animals; exposures to radiation through x-ray equipment and gamma-ray equipment; exposure to animal inflicted injuries, rabies and other zoonotic diseases; exposure to sharps, anesthetic gases.

Required Qualifications

Associates degree in radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience; ability to obtain the following requirements prior to start date: ARRT Radiography registered with current ODH licensure; graduate of an accredited radiologic technology program; MR experience; experience in diagnostic and fluoroscopic procedures.

Experience handling animals.

Target Salary $21.60 - $24.00 Hourly
