Position Summary
Position is responsible for assisting with professional aspects of the Radiology services performed at Barnes-Jewish hospital. Position assists with and facilitates communications among radiology attending, fellows and resident physicians, technologists, referring physicians and physician extenders.
Job Description
The shift will be a rotating schedule working both days and evening and possibly some weekends.
Day hours include 7:00 a.m. -3:30 p.m., evenings 3:30 p.m.-12:00 a.m., weekends variable.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Answers protocol questions from radiology technologists in an appropriate and timely manner, referring questions to staff physicians as needed.
- Coordinates worklists for studies performed outside of the medical campus to be read on the medical campus.
- Helps manage the turn-around times for examinations so that the reads are performed in accordance with expectations.
- Serves as a liaison with technologists. Clarifies orders from referring physicians as needed.
- Calls physicians to facilitate reporting results as appropriate.
- Requests additional images, reconstruction, etc. from radiology technologists as directed by staff physicians.
- Helps in maintaining quality assurance of studies.
- Helps serve as a liaison for technical support between Radiologists and the IT section at Washington University.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in MRI/CT or patient workflow management in a radiology department.
- Customer-first attitude.
- Innovative and enthusiastic about establishing a new service.
- Certified radiology technologist or bachelor’s degree related to health science.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
- Attention to detail.
Required Qualifications
Experience in MRI/CT or patient workflow management with imaging studies.

Salary Range
$23.60 - $35.40 / Hourly
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
