What You Will Achieve

As part of the Animal Models and Imaging (AMI) group within the Global Discovery Investigative and Translational Sciences (GDITS) team, you will collaborate with Pfizer's Research and Development teams and Investigative partners to develop and execute animal models of disease, provide non-invasive imaging and biomarker support to advance the portfolio programs. It is your hard work along with innovative ideas and focus that will help in making Pfizer ready to achieve new milestones and help patients across the globe.

How You Will Achieve It

  • Work with teams across the organization to optimize pre-clinical imaging data acquisition, processing and analysis.
  • Develop automated pre-clinical image (Computed Tomography, Ultrasound, Positron Emission Tomography and other imaging technologies) analysis tools.
  • Support in vivo experiments to develop and validate of animal models, imaging methods and digital biomarker in support of Pfizer programs.
  • Interface with technology and computational/digital teams to maintain database and data management.
  • Automate data migration, extraction, and database management.
  • Update and manage tools as software/networks change.
  • Train colleagues on the use of automated image analysis tools.
  • Contribute towards reports, posters, talks, other project communications and manuscripts under supervision.

Will be required to work under the following: The United States Department of Agriculture Animal Welfare Act and associated Regulations and Standards, the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, and AAALAC accreditation standards.

Qualifications

Must-Have

  • BS degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering or related field with 3+ years experience or MA/MS with 0+ years related experience required.
  • Experience working with MatLab, preferably working with image processing, signal processing, statistics or data/image acquisition toolboxes, and interfacing with other programing languages like R and Python.
  • Experience working with rodent animal models of human disease.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience working in a pharmaceutical or drug discovery setting.
  • Experience in one or more disease areas (oncology, inflammation, metabolic or neurological diseases).
  • Familiarity with one or several biomedical imaging modalities such as mCT, PET, ultrasound, and other methods.

Physical/Mental Requirements

  • Ability to work standing and/or sitting for multiple hours
  • Ability to conduct computer work for multiple hours

Work Location Assignment: On Premise

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $64,600.00 to $107,600.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer's Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 7.5% of the base salary.
