OU’s Institute of Child Development (ICD) Laboratory Preschool is looking for part-time teacher aids. The responsibilities for this position include assisting in the classroom where needed; engaging in high-quality interaction with children and families; promoting children’s learning and development; supporting the needs of children, families, and other staff at the ICD; helping to maintain classroom ratio; assisting in providing a calm and positive learning environment for children, providing office assistance; aiding with daily school operations (e.g., assisting with food preparation; giving teachers breaks, setting up classroom learning environments, doing laundry, cleaning, etc.).
There are two positions available. One is Monday-Friday, 2:30-5:30. The second position is Tuesday-Thursday, 10:30 to 5:00. There is a possibility of slight adjustments to these schedules. This position will be for the fall and spring OU academic calendars.
Must pass a comprehensive post-offer, pre-employment criminal and fingerprint background check, and a continued successful status will be verified by periodic future background checks

Required Education: Must be enrolled in the current Spring term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring is contingent upon verification of current student status.

Certifications:
None required at hiring. After hire, the worker will need Infant & Child CPR/First Aid Certification; Infant Safe Sleep Training; Food Preparation and Diapering Training.
Advertised Physical Requirements:
Supervise a classroom of children – which includes:
- Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Bend, kneel, get up and down from floor or sitting position
- Physical work is 70% of the job
- Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements, such as hot or cold weather, loud noises, or elements from outdoors (dirt, water, insects)
