Description

The NIST Quantum Nanophotonics Group is actively engaged in research in the areas of quantum light generation and detection.Hybrid quantum systems, in which two or more promising technologies are integrated onto the same platform, offer the promise of exploiting the best properties of each individual system. We aim to integrate the exceptional optical properties of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) with the robust and fast operations of Josephson junctions (JJs). Active areas of interest include interfacing these two dissimilar systems with electro-optics ( i.e. superconducting microwave cavity) or strain ( i.e. surface acoustic wave cavity or optomechanical membrane).
