Job Summary:


The HVAC Controls Technician monitors and assesses the operation of HVAC and other systems by way of a campus-wide Energy Management and Control System (EMCS) on a daily basis to assure safe, proper & efficient operation. Employees assigned to this position will install, service, repair, calibrate and perform routine maintenance on pneumatic, electric, electronic, and direct digital control (DDC) systems for heating, cooling, refrigeration and metering equipment.​

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of building maintenance, repair techniques, and materials.
  • Ability to use various power equipment, including drills, roto-hammers, hand tools, etc.
  • Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions related to the building and maintenance trades.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with staff, faculty, and students.
  • Valid driver's license; proven driving ability with good driving record.
  • Ability to work on weekends, shift work, overtime, and on-call.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical as required for the position.
