Position Description:

The primary duties and responsibility of this position is to serve as a point of contact for payroll-related needs for all departments, centers, and units within the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD). This employee will work in collaboration with the HR Unit Coordinator to submit, assess, and maintain the payroll processing for the College of Education and Human Development. This role will also assist with hiring for staff, graduate assistants, student employment, temporary, and part-time lecturer roles, training/development, onboarding, terminations, and other items related to the HR function.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Initiate and facilitate payroll, position management, costing allocation, and related tasks.  This includes, but is not limited to payroll corrections, position status, pay rate and FTE changes, job title and pay grade changes.
  • Process and maintain payroll transactions related to faculty, staff, student workers, and temporary employee actions including onboarding, additional appointments, leave, and separations.
  • Review, troubleshoot, and edit Timesheets with department supervisors (in coordination with HR Unit Manager).
  • Audit payroll with Business Support Staff to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Troubleshoot payroll processing with CEHD staff/faculty, as well as University Payroll Administration and HR.
  • Partner with HR Unit Manager on hire processes for staff, part-time lecturers, temporary employees, and student employees in coordination with Dean's office. Ensure the efficient new hire process for all faculty, staff, and temporary positions with CEHD.
  • Assist the Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs with faculty personnel actions, including (but not limited to) new appointments, reappointments, additional appointments, associate appointments, status changes, leave of absence, and end of appointment.
  • Maintain and organize documents and items related to faculty personnel actions, including P103, P102, CV, offer letters, approvals, vote tallies, faculty member request forms, and supplemental data sheets.
  • Serve as liaison to Interfolio, as well as processing faculty actions through the Interfolio system.
  • Maintain and organize Personnel Folder for CEHD for faculty, staff, part-time lecturers, etc.
  • Co-manage the HR Service Account E-mail for CEHD.
  • Create and perform training/development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Dean's Office Staff on other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, as well as be attentive to detail.
  • Preferred candidate would have an extensive payroll background, with previous experience in auditing.
  • Preferred candidate would have previous experience with Workday, OnBase, Excel, and PeopleSoft.
  • Knowledge of benefits, taxes, and finance.

Target Compensation Maximum:

$31.38

Target Compensation Minimum:

$20.92

Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
