As a Human Resources Trainer, you will be at the forefront of developing and delivering dynamic training initiatives across the University System. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree and 3 years of experience in human resources programs, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer prior experience in training development and delivery. Prefer prior experience with HCM PeopleSoft and PeopleAdmin systems.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Knowledge of best practices in adult learning and e-learning technologies. Knowledge of principles and practices of human resources management and knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations. Requires ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion; to communicate with all levels of management within the organization, both verbally and in writing; and ability to maintain effective working relationships within the university and with external customers. Ability to maintain confidentiality.

The Human Resources Trainer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of HR training initiatives to ensure HR actions across the university system are completed in compliance with USC policies, State regulations and federal laws . Coordinates and delivers training program(s) for HR practitioners across the university system (Division of Human Resources Staff, HR Contacts, student hire representatives, supervisors, and other audience groups as applicable) across the USC system.
Transfers knowledge to HR practitioners across the university system. Builds and strengthens HR related policy, procedural, and system knowledge, confidence, and competencies among all who serve in any HR capacity across the university system. Manages the HR Contact Training Program with responsibilities including, but not limited to: scheduling, developing/maintaining/updating course materials, delivering the monthly training sessions, grading homework assignments, and authorizing HR system access for new HR Contacts.

Continually monitors and evaluates effectiveness of training programs and resources and makes updates/improvements as needed. Identifies and communicates potential for process improvements where needed. Review error reports and data to determine areas needing rework and forms needing to be recycled; uses data to inform training opportunities. Uses survey data (from training programs, Service Team satisfaction surveys, etc.) to assist in identification of needs for new/updated training resources and/or course offerings.

Responsible for routine communication with HR Practitioners on topics related to policy/regulations, systems, resources/tools, etc. through the HR Contact Newsletter (or equivalent). Responsible for coordinating information with leaders across the Division of HR as applicable, compiling/formatting, and sending. Maintains listserv based on training program completion.
Responsible for routine communication with Student Hire Representatives via the Student Hire Workcenter in the HCM system. Responsible for coordinating information with leaders across the Division of HR as applicable, compiling/formatting, and placing in workcenter.

Develops and/or updates job aids and resource materials cross-functional HR topics. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures for the division of HR Service Team. Ensures job aids, resources, and standard operating procedures are kept up to date and accurate.

Engages in testing of HCM and PeopleAdmin system updates/changes and provides feedback from the HR Contact perspective. Develop resources and deliver training for new processes, procedures, and/or HR system updates as applicable. Collaborates with the Controller’s Office training team and/or the Office of Professional Development for creation and/or coordination of cross-functional training as needed.

Develops and maintains an expert level understanding of USC’s HR policies and HR systems to be able to provide guidance and resolution for users in any role. Serves as primary point of contact for HR practitioner questions regarding HR training topics and HR system questions/concerns/troubleshooting. Partners with HCM Technical Team and PeopleAdmin support as applicable on issues/errors in the systems.
