Summary

The Human Resources department at Barry University seeks a full time Human Resources Partner

The Human Resources Partner primarily performs recruitment activities.  The incumbent will be responsible for performing the full cycle of recruiting including, but not limited to: attracting, screening, selecting, and onboarding qualified candidates.  Provides guidance to hiring managers to ensure the most qualified applicants are selected.  Provides HRIS support to departments on utilizing the ATS (application tracking system). Also responsible for responding to general inquiries on Human Resource policies, procedures, and programs.  Provides information and assistance to all employees and the public regarding Human Resources recruitment activities and vacant positions.  Performs a variety of tasks requiring specialized knowledge.

This is a Hybrid (In-Person/Remote) position


Essential Functions

  • Provide guidance to hiring managers throughout the recruitment cycle, ensure equitable hiring practices are applied.

  • Advertises internally and externally for vacant positions utilizing the Workday HR Recruiting applicant tracking system.

  • Ensures job titles and job posting templates are consistent with best practices for both faculty and staff positions and are consistent with the University’s Pay and Titling Guidelines.  Advertises vacant positions on specified websites as requested by hiring managers and ensures cost center information is submitted for budget chargebacks.

  • Reviews applications and resumes daily, determines eligibility based on qualifications, and dispositions qualified candidates to the hiring manager via Workday HR Recruiting.  Disposition candidates not selected.

  • Conducts weekly reviews in E-Verify for possible open TNC (Tentative Non Confirmation) cases.  Makes sure that open cases are researched, referred, and closed promptly.

  • Reviews background check reports daily to ensure that hiring managers are updated on background check progress/delays.  In consultation with Talent Acquisition Manager or AVP of HR, takes appropriate action on background checks with adverse results.

  • Follows I9 procedures in accordance with Homeland Security and Barry University guidelines.

  • Responds to open tickets (TeamDynamix) within 24 to 48 hours.

  • Proactively communicates business needs of the unit to the respective areas within HR.

  • Partners with hiring managers and recruiting coordinators to understand objectives, gain business knowledge, and provide value-added services for recruitment efforts, staffing needs, and workforce planning.

  • Identifies training needs for business units and individuals alike


Performs various recruiting activities including:

  • Conduct Workday HR Recruitment process training sessions for hiring managers and end-users as needed.

  • Attend job fairs as required

  • Participate in the development of a recruitment and retention strategy, which will include development an employment brand and ensuring an engaging onboarding experience.  Actively participates in talent acquisition strategies that will target a diverse pool of qualified applicants.

  • Research outside temporary staffing agencies to fill position vacancies as needed.


Qualifications/Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of experience in Human Resources. 3-5 years of full-cycle recruitment experience may substitute the educational requirement.

  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and sourcing tools.

  • Demonstrate sound judgement and the ability to discreetly manage confidential and sensitive information.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demands simultaneously and following through for effective and timely resolution.

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
