Position Details


General Statement
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for all functional areas within Human Resources including recruitment, hiring, onboarding, developing and retaining employees, labor and employee relations, compensation, benefits, classification, and human resource information systems. The position provides guidance regarding human resources issues at the College. All responsibilities are carried out in compliance with state law, federal law and college policy and procedure.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Recruitment
  • Oversee employee hiring, onboarding and orientation.
  • Provide guidance and understanding of the benefits available to Great Falls College employees.
  • Develop and implement human resources policies and procedures. Interpret human resources policies, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Provide personnel related information and guidance to managers, administration, and employees.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Bachelor’s or associates degree in Human Resources/Business Management or related field or a combination of education and related human resource experience.
  • Two years progressively responsible human resources experience.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
  • Proven knowledge of human resource laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems, deal with issues and concerns in a positive and constructive manner.
  • Experience with higher education and/or a 2-year college.
  • Excellent organization and communication skills.
  • Professional HR Certification (SHRM or HRCI).

The Successful Candidate Will
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, listening, and communication skills including the ability to collaborate successfully with faculty, staff, students, and applicants.
  • Handle sensitive, confidential situations and information.
  • Possess excellent organizational skills and critical thinking skills in order to prioritized and manage several simultaneous projects, while maintaining accuracy.
  • Analyze complex matters within the broader human resources context and provide integrated solutions.
  • Have the desire to increase knowledge, acquire new skills, and take on new projects and challenges.
