Job Summary:

The HR Generalist position will manage the HR functions within the networks of the Long School of Medicine and UT Health Physicians. The role will be responsible for developing relationships with managers and staff while providing direction and guidance around policies and practices, staffing, comp requests, and other HR related topics

 

Job Duties:

  • Interprets and executes HR policies, including compensation and classification, employee relations, talent acquisition, work and leave administrations, and employment administration. Serve as the primary liaison to communicate changes in HR policies and programs.
  • Responsible for the end-to-end management of transactions by initiating, tracking, and closing actions in HCM. Transactions include, but are not limited to FTE actions, supplemental payments, leaves of absence, entering approved changes in funding, position creation/modification, terminations, and salary changes.
  • Confirms transaction completeness, accuracy, and compliance with UTHSA and department policies and procedures and provides prompt feedback to unit employees when additional information is required. Responds within the parameters of SLA to phone, email, in-person, and online inquiries to provide information related to HR processes and practices.
  • Addresses routine employee relations issues and escalates to the SHRP when necessary. Support investigations by documenting issues and gathering information. Participates in client department meetings to confirm service expectations and anticipate upcoming needs.
  • Maintains up-to-date and accurate information, including personnel and employment files. Maintains documentation of transactions and interactions.
  • Identifies recurring trends and questions and escalates them to SHRP or Manager, HR Service Delivery.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding process status and proactively notifies clients regarding process delays or issues.
  • Provides data, policy, and talent implication guidance for units considering promotions, demotions, title changes, compensation changes, and voluntary terminations for staff.
  • Identifies client unit needs and provides guidance and tracking during the talent acquisition process. Provides development and supplemental materials for interviewing and post-interview follow-up.

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree is required.

Experience:

Three (3) years of applicable experience is required.
