Job Description

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist II, under general supervision of Engineering Human Resources, provides advanced support processing HR related requests via Workday and associated systems. The HR Generalist II will serve as the HR Contact and Recruiting Coordinator for Engineering divisions in processing HR related functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the key point of contact for Engineering divisions in processing HR related requests via Workday and associated systems.
  • Provides guidance related to HR functions and ensure that issues are handled confidentially and efficiently.
  • Advises faculty, staff and business services team members on processes, procedures, and services as well as serving as a subject matter expert and technical resource. 
  • Provides excellent customer service while assisting stakeholders with HR related processes, procedures and services.
  • Executes the role of HR Contact in Workday which includes creating positions, hire, change job, compensation changes, promotions, etc.
  • As a Recruiting Coordinator, reviews and assists hiring managers with job requisitions, offers of employment, creating offer letters, and ensuring selected candidates meet minimum qualifications for positions.  
  • Assists with researching and resolving issues related to personnel and other HR services.
  • Supports the HR/Payroll new employee onboarding sessions and continually monitors the hiring process of new employees to ensure onboarding completion in timely manner.
  • Continuously engaging with department contacts and making regular visits to ensure understanding of processes and give support for one-on-one training and questions.
  • Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • One year of related experience.
