Position Summary
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station.
 
The HR Director will supervise all Human Resources activities for the School of Law. This includes being a strategic partner with school leadership in all matters related to Human Resources, ensuring compliance with all laws and guidance from relevant governing bodies, strategically reviewing the structure of the Human Resources department to maximize efficiency, ensure daily workflow meets the needs of the school, and act as a liaison with relevant governing bodies at the university and the state, act as the EMR lead for the school.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree and two years of progressively responsible professional human resources management experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be from appropriately accredited institutions.

-Experience analyzing, interpreting, applying, communicating and promoting HR best practices in the context of organizational goals and objectives.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
-Experience with Federal and State HR regulations.
-State of North Carolina of Higher Education experience, preferably experience within the UNC System.
-ConnectCarolina experience.
-At least one year experience preparing and executing EHRA faculty and non-faculty employee actions and experience with Faculty hiring.
-Human resources supervisory experience.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities
This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
