Summary of Position
The office of human resources at Plymouth State University is now accepting applications for the position of Human Resources Assistant.  The overall function of this position is to provide administrative support in the areas of office management including student supervision, data management/recordkeeping, financial/budget and onboarding to maintain the highest level of customer service possible to the various constituencies of Plymouth State University and entities outside the university. This is a 40 hour per week, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., benefited position.

Other minimum qualifications
* High school graduation and five years of related experience involving progressive responsible duties requiring discretion and independent judgment OR Associate’s degree and three years of related experience or a combination of higher education and related experience equal to five years. 
 * Ability to deal effectively with students, staff members, and faculty. 
* Computer skills as required by department including but not limited to Microsoft Office, automated financial systems, online recruitment software and website maintenance. 
* Knowledge of human resources procedures related to recruitment, payroll, worker’s compensation, and benefits. 
* Bookkeeping experience. 
* Supervisory experience.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
 
* Bachelor’s degree. 
* Human resources experience in a college or university. 
* Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll management, human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
* Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
* Office management experience.
* Demonstrated ability to prioritize needs
