Position Summary:

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the university's Human Resource Information System (HRIS), which supports the full employee lifecycle. The current HRIS system includes recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee learning, and off boarding. The position requires exceptional customer service and the ability to work with a variety of constituents.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for coordinating and administering the University HRIS System including recruitment, On-Boarding, Performance Management and Off-Boarding

  • Develops and implement Policy, procedure, and training programs for campus users and customers

  • Maintains university position descriptions for all faculty and staff full-time positions

  • Develop recruitment advertisements and remit to professional journals and/or job registries to ensure diverse applicant pools

  • Assist applicants with the application process and answer questions related to the application system (i.e. password, application submitted, uploads, etc.)

  • Provide training sessions for departmental users and supervisors regarding the system, while maintaining campus guides

  • Proper completion of the closing process for all posted positions

  • Serve as liaison between Human Resources and the HRIS service provider to ensure proper system functionality

  • Assign performance evaluations for all full-time positions

  • Other duties as assigned or needed


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources
Knowledge of federal and state personnel laws, policies, and procedures,
Ability to work with a variety of constituents
Ability to interview and extract information from applicants and departments
Ability to analyze processes and make recommendations for process improvement
Knowledge and ability to effectively communicate with various individuals in a variety of communication methods
Knowledge of Excel, and ability to manipulate data sets


General Days/Hours:

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Additional hours as requested and/or needed
Regular and reliable attendance

Work directly with various campus constituents, including the Office of Diversity, employees, Directors, and Hiring Managers


Minimum Qualifications:

The formal educational equivalent of an earned Bachelor's Degree in human resources, public administration, or a related field
Two (2) years of human resources experience
Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements
