JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Health at the Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA is hiring a Human Research Technologist for a new research study, funded by the National Institute of Mental Health, examining mental health problems in youth. This position will work with Dr. Dara Babinski to supervise a team of research technologists in order to successfully meet study goals (https://sites.psu.edu/abcresearchprogram ). Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are required for this position. Opportunities for career development are available and encouraged.

Duties include:

  • Overseeing regulatory compliance issues such as tracking and recording protocol-specific certifications and procedure certification such as Human Subject Protection and Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Institutional Review Board approvals.
  • Hiring, training, and supervising support staff; assigning work and evaluating staff performance
  • Leading participant recruitment and retention efforts
  • Scheduling and coordinating study visits and training sessions 
  • Performing data collection and management, ensuring compliance with data integrity standards
  • Assisting in writing reports and scientific papers for publication and academic presentations
  • Tracking study progress and trouble-shooting problems that may arise.

Bachelor's Degree

6+ years of relevant experience

Equivalency


Or an equivalent combination of education and experience

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check  
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check

The salary range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
