JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:


The Pennsylvania State University is seeking a Human Research Technologist to organize study materials, interact with study participants, ensure project compliance, safety and confidentiality, and manage project finances. Organize and monitor data accuracy and train others to collect, enter, and interpret data. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following: 


  • Recruit and enroll subjects/participants for study participation 

  • Maintain subject/participant database 

  • Organize study materials, conduct data collection, monitor incoming data for accuracy and quality 

  • Troubleshoot for technical problems and maintain the integrity of the project protocol 

  • Monitor the safety and confidentiality of the project and its subjects/participants 


  • Assist the Principal Investigators with Institutional Review Board amendments, continuations, and renewals as needed

  • Ensure all study personnel have appropriate training for work with human subjects 

  • Manage project finances including purchases of supplies and study materials; reconcile receipts and purchases; submit subject/participant payment forms and travel reimbursement 

  • Train others to collect, enter, and interpret data 

  • Prepare reports summarizing data gatherings; meet with appropriate individuals to discuss data and insure consistent interpretation or results 


  • May supervise undergraduate research assistants, medical students, and/or part-time staff 


 


This position typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher (Bachelor’s degree preferred) plus 2 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

This is a limited-term position funded for 1 year with possibility for renewal.


 


This position will require successful completion of standard background checks.
