JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Public Health Sciences at PennState College of Medicine in Hershey, PA is looking for a candidate (Full Time HR105, about 4 days a week) to assist in the conduct of a research project focused on developing a navigation-based telehealth methodology to engage black men in informed decision-making for prostate cancer screening. The candidate will serve as a Patient Navigator by assisting with study recruitment and be primarily responsible for engaging study participants through virtual individual sessions with participants. Patient Navigators are committed to removing the client's barriers to care by identifying critical resources and issues, and promoting client health. In addition, the candidate will oversee data collection, data entry and data management.  Preference is for a candidate with some level of college education or greater, good interpersonal skills and background in a social or health care setting. Experience in word processing, spreadsheet, video conferencing, and presentation software such as PowerPoint are desirable.

This is a limited term position, funded for one year with possibility of refunding.

The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:

• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History

• Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
