JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Division of Adolescent Medicine within the Department of Pediatrics at the Pennsylvania State College of Medicine in Hershey, PA is seeking a Human Research Technologist to assist faculty with multiple research projects related to eating disorders, gender health, and other projects with an adolescent medicine population. Projects include a randomized controlled trial evaluating the effectiveness of Naltrexone at decreasing purging behaviors and other eating disorder symptoms, a study investigating fear as a psychological mechanism implicated in eating disorders, and retrospective chart reviews of data from our eating disorders and gender health clinics. The main responsibilities include supporting the recruitment, enrollment, and scheduling of study participants. The position is also responsible for organizing project materials, collecting data, entering data into appropriate databases, and supervising undergraduate research assistants on a variety of different projects. Applicants will be expected to participate in data collection for high-quality research and must have strong verbal and communication skills.

Typically requires an Associate’s degree or higher (Bachelor's degree preferred) plus 1 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

 

Preferred qualifications for selected candidate would be a Bachelor’s degree in psychology, human development, or a related field. Experience and interest working with adolescents and young adults with eating disorders.

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.

The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:

• Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse History

• Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
