Human Capital Management (HCM) Specialist - PeopleSoft

UTHealth Houston is looking for an HCM (human capital management) specialist who will work in our Oracle PeopleSoft environment to manage personnel actions with our employees.  This role works in the University Center Tower of UT Health on Fannin.  It will require someone to review, approve, enter/upload basic to moderately complex personnel actions in HCM or PeopleSoft's Human Capital Management system. They will also assist the SDR team with all aspects of SDR tasks.  

 

Ideally we are looking for someone who has HCM PeopleSoft skills.  Must have attention to detail as this is a system of record for personnel at the University.  It will require a high functioning multi-tasker who can work accurately at a fast pace.

Position Summary:

Review, approves, enters/uploads basic to moderately complex personnel actions in HCM. Assists SDR team with all aspects of SDR tasks.  

 

Position Key Accountabilities:

1.  Reviews personnel actions and fund source actions ensuring compliance with UTH and UT System policies.  Reviews expenditures to ensure conformance to budgetary provisions such as the need for a Request for Budget Check (RBC).  Approves, rejects, and follows up for entry by scheduled payroll processing dates. 
2.  Reviews, approves, and uploads basic to moderately complex personnel actions, new hire information and vacant positions.
3.  Processes semi-monthly personnel maintenance file transfers to Comptroller’s Office and associated timely entry of corrections/additions from the exception reports.
4.  Generates appointment letters, logs in database, sends for signature, and logs as receives back and files accordingly.
5.  Entry of monthly longevity new setups and changes.
6.  Assists SDR team with personnel actions, special projects, audit requests, etc
7.  Performs special projects as required for clean-up in PeopleSoft HCM.
8.  Runs monthly queries and creates quality checks for data entered into system.
9.  Performs other duties as assigned.


Certification/Skills:

Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
Requires good judgment, analytical and problem solving skills
 

Minimum Education:

Associate’s degree, preferably in business administration or related field, or relevant experience in lieu of education.

Minimum Experience:

Two (2) years of experience, preferably in Accounting, Payroll, Budget, or Human Resources and including experience with Peoplesoft HCM.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
