Job Summary

The HTM Technician:

  • Performs routine repairs on a broad range of electromechanical medical equipment using basic test equipment and repair tools. Prepares and maintains related documentation.

  • Performs preventative maintenance testing of routine electromechanical medical equipment according to established procedures.

  • Understands medical device regulations and ensures assigned medical devices are managed in compliance with those regulations.

  • Participates in inspection tours of clinical and/or research areas using medical equipment.

  • Documents all service actions and complies with documentation guidelines and metrics defined in department policy.

  • Builds and maintains customer relationships and independently manages clinical resource area(s).

  • Acts as a technical resource for clinical customer base. Consults and collaborates with peers to resolve outstanding issues.

  • Provides excellent customer service, defining problems, developing solutions, and performing follow-up. Keeps customers apprised of statuses and estimated completion dates.

To qualify, you must have:

  • Associate's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field.

  • 2 years of related work experience may substitute for minimum educational requirement.

  • Ability to use analytical skills to troubleshoot electromechanical devices.

  • Ability to adhere to processes, policies, and procedures by leveraging internal and external technical resources to understand and complete device maintenance procedures.

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to provide effective customer service.

  • Ability to meet priorities within set timeframes.

  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
