The HRIS Systems Associate is part of the HRIS team reporting to the Manager of HRIS.


This position plays an integral role in the interpretation and processing of data change requests either in paper form or electronic workflow. This role requires attention to detail by ensuring requests are accurate when submitted and follows up with HR staff if troubleshooting is required. This role also works closely with the Payroll department to resolve any issues in order to meet biweekly and monthly payroll deadlines.


This role is responsible for tier 1 support regarding requests, process, data issues, collaborating closely with HR departments, OIT and other campus departments, taking the lead to work through any technical issues with the HRIS administrators or OIT.

 

This is an in-person position in Princeton, NJ, with the possibility of a hybrid work schedule.



 

  • Transactional processing and auditing functions are accurate and completed on time for in order to meet biweekly and monthly payroll deadlines.
  • Works with HR functional areas to ensure transactional processes comply with policies and procedures. This includes auditing incoming HRIS forms for accuracy and proper signatures.
  • Updates human resources and payroll-related data in the PeopleSoft HCM system. This includes adding, changing and terminating records based on a variety of HRIS forms.
  • Updates PeopleSoft HCM benefits data based on enrollment forms received. Processes qualifying status changes as submitted by the Benefits staff via web/e-mail. Finalizes terminations, leaves, and other events on a daily basis.
  • Self-audits updates comparing source documents to online screens; also audits updates based on reports.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to transactional work. Coordinates resolution with appropriate HR functional areas as well as outside departments such as Payroll.
  • Runs weekly and monthly processes; troubleshoots any issues that arise.Serves as a backup for the responsibilities and processes of the Systems Administrator where appropriate and the Data Management Coordinator.

 

HRIS Application Support

  • Writes and maintains PeopleSoft documentation.
  • Assists with the design of eForms, Performance Management, Recruitment, or other systems as assigned.
  • Performs systems testing during upgrades.
  • Participates in HR systems-related projects, as needed.
  • Reviews payroll output to ensure that testing is completed accurately and timely.
  • Adds additional transactions to test scripts as necessary.

Team Work, Communication, Internal and External Customer Support

  • Effectively communicates with HR clients and maintains strong working relationship to allow for accurate and timely response to inquiries.
  • Researches and assists with ad-hoc data clean-up projects.
  • Provides ideas and input to enhance the HR experience for all employees.
  • Assists with design, implementation and administration of all process improvement programs and activities.
  • Provides tier one (1) support on data issues and requests.
  • Effectively addresses inquiries and provides accurate and timely responses where possible without compromise to service and quality.
  • Supports operational data reporting (both regular and adhoc).
  • Works with preparer of documents to ensure accuracy and completeness of data.

 



  • BA/BS or equivalent experience required
  • A minimum of three (3) years of PeopleSoft or other ERP system required with data entry/administration experience in an HRIS capacity.
  • Performance management, recruiting and cloud systems experience preferred.
  • Understanding of and experience with relational query reporting systems
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a responsible and accurate manner
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
