Position Summary and Duties
Responsible for compiling, verifying and entering information to the HRIS system, as required in preparation for HR record keeping and payroll processing; includes bi-weekly, semi-monthly, federal work study and student payroll. Ensure timely and accurate entry of pay, benefits and demographic data; includes contracts, pay changes, deduction changes, new hires, terminations, benefits data, etc. in accordance with strict payroll and other deadlines. Prepares routine and ad hoc reports related to pay, benefits and other HR data. Assist with HR team system access control. Assist with special HR projects and provide back-up coverage for receptionist and other office support duties as required. 
HRIS Data Entry and Integrity
Responsible for timely and accurate processing of high volume HR/payroll data to include entering new hires, terminations, promotions, salary adjustments, position and department changes, demographic information, benefits data, special pay data and all other related HR data to the HRIS system, in compliance with policies, procedures and regulations. Compute and verify contracts with special terms of appointment; prepare deductions, etc., entering data into a complex system. Validate and proofread information provided for input, correct errors and investigate problems. Coordinate entry of annual wage, salary and deduction changes in to the system, and coordinate other data related projects. Maintain data security and integrity by validating data and conducting ongoing quality control audits. Respond to telephone and in person inquiries from HR team members and other employees, faculty and students as needed to accurately process faculty, staff, administrator, and student HR/payroll data; solve problems related to HR/payroll data, systems and reports, escalating unusual situations to the supervisor. Confer regularly with HR staff, payroll, technical services staff and other offices as needed in order to carry out duties effectively. Coordinate pay schedules with the payroll office to ensure deadlines are met, organizing electronic files, forms and related records. 
Reporting 
Generate and format routine and ad hoc system reports for HR and other departments related to pay, benefits and other HR data.  Assist with formatting organizational reports. Assist in documenting HRIS and HR operations procedures. Create tables and perform table and system maintenance and testing as needed in order to effectively and fully utilize system capabilities for data collection, retrieval and report generation purposes. 
HRIS, Team and Project Support
Assist with HR team system access control for HRIS and peripheral HR systems as requested by management. Participate in staff and/or technical meetings as needed. Assist with peripheral HR system and operations projects as requested. Provide general office support as needed and assist with back-up HR receptionist support, mail, and other HR department support projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience plus three years of experience in a payroll data entry or related position required. Knowledge of database systems and data reporting tools is required, along with knowledge of HR and payroll practices. Experience must include verifying/computing and entering data into a complex HR/payroll system along with experience maintaining data tables and generating reports from databases. Ability to multi-task and manage a high volume work load accurately and in accordance with payroll and department deadlines is essential. Attention to detail is required as are good math skills. Proficiency with MS office suite along with demonstrated alpha/numeric data entry skill also required. Clear written and verbal communications skills required; ability to interact with a variety of customers regarding sensitive matters and maintain strict confidentiality required; good organizational, time management and good proofreading skills required. Must have the ability to present material and train others in HRIS processes, and must be able to work well independently and in a team environment. Ability to support the mission and values of a Catholic Jesuit education, as well as University goals for institutional diversity.
