About the Department
Human Resource Information Management and Analytics (HRIMA) provides a broad range of university support regarding the HR System including upgrades, Job Action Request (JAR), time & labor, payable compensation, longevity, prior state service, job data, and record management. HRIM works directly with college divisional HR representatives when processing and investigating HR System transactions.
The HR System is a web-based PeopleSoft application accessible from the MYPACK Portal with a valid unity ID and password. The application supports the information needs of Human Resources (HR), Payroll, Employee Services, Benefits, and Management functions within the university. It merges resource management activities into standardized categories, folders, subfolders, and topics. The linkage of its payroll and human resource activities in the HR System makes the software application both rigid and flexible for processing personnel actions.
Essential Job Duties
The University Human Resources Information Management and Analytics unit is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to lead HRIM efforts and initiatives focused on matters related to benefits, retirement, and leave associated with our PeopleSoft system designs and processes within the Division of Human Resources. This position will provide consultative guidance regarding best practices related to the enterprise applications governing the flow of employment and benefits related to business processes and data.
The incumbent In this role will work closely with business analysts, project managers, HR Subject Matter Experts, IT team members, HR-Project Management Office (HR-PMO), vendors, and other campus stakeholders to ensure accurate, secure, and compliant systems.
This position can be based out of our Raleigh, NC office with flexible, hybrid work arrangements. This position is not eligible for out-of-state remote work.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Leads the project management efforts of HRIMA implementations, upgrades, and system rollouts
  • Researches and troubleshoots issues if/when they arise
  • Escalates issues, as appropriate, by creating support tickets and working with Enterprise Application Services vendor(s) to resolve them
  • Researches, escalates, and resolves unexpected results or process flaws within HR systems
  • Leads the research, design planning, and implementation efforts to deploy HRIMA solutions that can replace manual processes
  • Leads and facilitates benefit and leave system implementations, configurations, upgrades, and enhancements
  • Provides advanced analytical reporting and analysis to help drive informed decisions
  • Provide guidance and supports data integrity and quality assurance efforts by running queries, analyzing data, and resolving issues
  • Creates documentation and training materials to provide guidance, expertise, and technical support to system end users in a timely and accurate manner
  • Oversees HRIMA technical training initiatives by providing hands-on education and on-demand training solutions
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to understand the full scope and impact of system configurations, process flows and end-user effects before deployment
  • Recommends improvements for Human Resources technology processes and systems design
  • Maintains system data regarding position management, applicant tracking, onboarding, employee benefits, and performance training plans using University processes and applications
  • Champions the relationships between HRIMA stakeholders and the IT team to facilitate new updates, releases, and outstanding technical support issues
  • Manages program documentation, issues tracking, and end-user training
  • Maintains knowledge of University values and strategic plan

Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Master’s degree and at least one year of relevant experience; or Bachelor’s degree with at least two years’ of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
Other Required Qualifications
  • At least 3 years Human Resources Information Technology (HRIT) experience
  • Knowledge of project management best practices for system implementations
  • Strong analytical and technical skills translating and analyzing business needs into system design requirements, driving projects, and delivering effective, value-adding solutions
  • Knowledge and understanding of Human Resources guidelines and best practices, especially Benefits and Leave management
  • Knowledge and understanding of Human Resources, Benefits-related federal and state laws, regulations and policy
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to provide attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ability to communicate with stakeholders in an effective and non-technical manner
  • Ability to learn quickly and work under pressure; self-starter that take initiative
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to support both the system end user as well as translate system requirements to technical and non-technical teams
  • Ability to lead system and process implementations, act as a primary point of contact, and change management effort and technical trainings
