Job Description Summary:
Human Resources Management and Development (HRMD) is made up of several departments that serve as advocates for the GW community and consistently provide discreet, valuable and personalized service that is timely and responsive. HR helps GW to maintain a diverse workforce of the highest caliber and to support employees in their roles within the university. Reporting to the Director, HR, the HR Manager works directly with clients and serves as the lead for on-site HR support. Day-to-day responsibilities include:
  • Collaborates with management on areas regarding recruitment, diversity, EEO laws, performance management, HR policies, employee relations, progressive discipline, training, strategic management and organizational development.
  • Assists managers of client area with the development of HR related departmental policies, ensuring compliance with University policies.
  • Advises employees and managers on new and ongoing HR programs and initiatives and is a single point of contact for managers to access services provided by other Human Resources functions.
  • May serve as the Human Resource representative with external agencies regarding employee related activities initiating from complaints such as EEOC, Unemployment, Department of Labor, etc.

Performs other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
