Description

The Human Resources Generalist 3 is responsible for facilitating, coordinating and/or evaluating HR services, policies, and programs for the Department of Pediatrics. Specific areas of responsibility include, HR Administration, Leave Coordination, Benefits, HR Compliance, Payroll Management, and supports Staffing & Recruitment and Employee/Labor Relations in conjunction with UCLA Health HR. The HR Generalist 3 serves as a consultant and point of expertise to supervisors and department leadership on human resources issues. The HR Generalist 3 assesses and anticipates HR-related needs and communicates proactively with department leadership and UCLA Health HR. Salary Range: $71500.00 – $154900.00 Annually



  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

Required: Demonstrated knowledge of UC personnel policies (PPSM), bargaining union contracts, and procedures and practices that govern HR administration. Four (4) to six (6) years general Human Resources experience or in specific responsibility area. Demonstrated analytical skills to conduct analysis, develop recommendations, and resolve organizational issues. Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize work and manage divergent needs. Demonstrated knowledge of human resources concepts, employment practices, employee/labor relations, salary administration, recruitment, training, and other areas of human resources. Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete projects within specified deadlines. Skilled in handling sensitive information and / or situations and maintaining strict confidentiality. Skilled in meeting deadlines despite frequent interruptions. Skilled in composing business, personnel and / or payroll correspondence. Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively relay and obtain information, explain policies and procedures, and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse audiences, including faculty, staff, and students. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with department staff, managers, and colleagues. Demonstrated knowledge of benefits and retirement programs, preferably in a university environment; ability to interpret and communicate complex benefits information to employees at all levels. Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience. General knowledge of change management and process improvement, including project management, stakeholder analysis, implementation plans, process mapping, root cause analysis, RACI, etc. Experience with UCPath/PeopleSoft or applicable enterprise software.
