HR Data Analyst

Position Summary:

With strategic leadership, organize and manage Human Resources data for staff employees across the National University System (NUS).   Provide guidance and support HR Leaders, Human Resources Business Partners (HRBP), and University leaders on  Human Resources data and reporting. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and track metrics.  Recommend improvements to current processes and assist in development of  new processes.   Ensure the program and processes align with applicable law and regulation.

Essential Functions:

  • Creates and updates Position Control Numbers in HRIS system in support of recruiting and budget control efforts.
  • Assures HRIS data integrity by performing routine audits to job, position, and benefits data.  Communicates and corrects data discrepancies as necessary.
  • Works closely with HR Systems Analyst for data uploads and corrections.
  • Works with HR and University leadership on ad hoc reporting requests, including monthly reporting requests.
  • Designs, develops and maintains interactive dashboards for Human Resources metrics. Supports the preparation of effective and high-quality presentations to clearly communicate findings, insights and recommendations related to Human Resources data.
  • Develops and documents processes and/or procedures for continuous improvement and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, Mathematics or related field, preferred; and, three to five years’ experience in analyzing human resources data/HRIS experience, required.
  • Professional Certification in Human Resources such as PHR, or SHRM-CP, preferred; or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, V-lookups, formulas, and graphs required.
  • Experience visualizing data and communicating complex information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Experience with multiple HRM systems, including Peoplesoft and Workday preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite Applications such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software related to Human Resources Information Systems HRIS) such as PeopleSoft and/or Oracle and familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Professional.  
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, mathematical, independent thinker, planning and organizational skills, customer service, attention to detail solid follow-up and follow-through. 
  • Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to appropriately communicate with a wide range of individual  constituencies in a diverse community. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including translating technical language to a non-technical nature.
  • Ability to use empathetic listening skills, communicate with clarity and maintain an attitude that conveys respect, assistance, honesty and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to maintain and build strong positive working relationships with colleagues, faculty, staff, administrators, students and the general public.
