Job Overview

The College of Arts & Sciences at the University of Cincinnati, Office of Inclusive Excellence and Community Partnership is accepting applications for a Human Resources Coordinator.  This fast-paced position provides transactional and coordination support for the HR Director, and will work with the Associate Dean of Inclusive Excellence and Community Partnership on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Community Outreach.

 

The College of Arts & Sciences is one of the largest colleges at the university consisting of 21-departments with more than 400 full-time represented faculty members, over 180 unrepresented staff employees, and in excess of 8,000 students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.


Essential Functions
  • Will coordinate HR functions for an operating unit.
  • Work with Talent Acquisition on job postings,  recruitment, and selection process. 
  • Assist or coordinate payroll processing for organizational unit.
  • May act as Personnel Change Request (PCR) initiator for organizational unit. Analyze various HR data for quality improvement recommendations.
  • Assist with implementing policies to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist with project management functions.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Four (4) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Additional Qualifications Considered
  • Familiarity with equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion efforts
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Prior college or university experience in human resources
  • Familiarity with UC-Flex HR functions and SuccessFactors a plus
  • Previous experience with UC systems, policies and procedures
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
