Job Summary

Purdue University Human Resources is currently seeking candidates for a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP).  The HRBP will primarily support our Purdue in Indianapolis location.  This position is a hybrid position with two or three days per week onsite at our Indianapolis location with the ability to travel a few days per month to our West Lafayette location.  The HR Business Partner works with faculty and staff to increase employee engagement and effectively resolve workplace concerns.  Promotes and implements HR Best Practices to enhance organizational effectiveness.  Serve as a liaison between the department and the Office of the Vice President for Human Resources.  Provide HR consultation to optimize talent management, structure, process and culture, with the goal of achieving exceptional results.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing guidance and advice to managers, supervisors and employees of the assigned colleges, or units.  Create new approaches to serving the needs of the department.  Partner with the unit to develop and implement the people management practices.  Act as a change ambassador.  Partner with stakeholders to ensure that best practices are being adopted.
  • Collaborate with Compensation, Talent Acquisition, and Leadership, Organizational Development to diagnose needs and propose solutions.
  • Provide general management and employee coaching,  Basic Triage, compliance, attendance.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field
  • Two or more years of HR generalist or business partner experience
  • Demonstrated success advising, and providing consultative support to people across multiple levels
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated project management and change management skills
  • Analytical and data management skills with the ability to translate data into action planning
  • Demonstrated successful experience in influencing people
  • Skill in drawing actionable insights from raw information and data

What Is Helpful:
  • SPHR or PHR Certification
